USB-IF said products can be tested through authorized independent test laboratories, with results submitted for USB-IF review. Successful submissions receive documentation intended to support demonstration of conformity to the relevant EU requirements.
Conformity is not full certification
The press release explicitly distinguishes the IEC 62680 conformity program from the broader USB-IF Compliance Program. Passing the conformity route alone is not presented as full verification of all USB-IF performance, reliability and interoperability requirements.
Documentation matters
The program uses product registration, a defined minimum test set, USB-IF review and tracking identifiers. This reinforces the need for manufacturers to connect market claims with the exact program, scope and evidence that supports them.
